A Teensy can quite easily control servos on its own. The reason I'm using a Maestro is to deligate the duty of controlling the servo. Hidden motive is to reduce the risk of servo shacking, when the microcontroller gets possible interference. Please note I installed the Pololu Maestro Control Center to setup the board.
